Whether you’re a racer, a fan or somewhat of a fanatic, here’s some information to make being at Lake Tahoe even more enjoyable.
Weather and What to Pack
• Sunny days about 80% of the time
• Mid-May average daytime temperature – 60°F
The nights are considerably cooler and the late-spring weather can be changeable. We recommend packing for dressing in layers and bringing a warm, waterproof parka.

• Elevation – lake level 6,225 feet above sea level
• Location – Sierra Nevada mountains, California/Nevada border
Be prepared for dry, thinner mountain air. Tahoe is 200 miles northeast of San Francisco, 98 miles northeast of Sacramento, 45 miles southwest of Reno. Two-thirds of the lake is in California, one-third in Nevada.
